Throughout the years, Italians have not only created some incredible entrees; they have perfected their ice cream making techniques as well. When establishing al Gelato in the United States in 1978, we began by committing our company to faithfully following the ancient ice cream traditions observed in Italy. After acquiring the recipes, special state-of-the-art Italian equipment, and sampling hundreds of flavors from Italy we were ready to begin production.

The traditional Italians produced only small quantities of ice cream, and we followed their excellent example. Our chefs blend, stir, sample and perfect each batch artisan-style so that the flavor and texture convey our uncompromising commitment to quality every time. Each package of al Gelato is inspected for weight and density.

So the secret to al Gelato excellence is no secret: a complete commitment to quality at every step. This thorough attention to detail guarantees the distinguishing nuances, taste and texture that you expect from every al Gelato dessert--an "Italian Work of Art".

Our philosophy maintains that if you are going to eat ice cream you should enjoy every bite of the very best product available. We use only the finest heavy creams, the richest chocolates, the highest-quality fresh fruits, liqueurs, nuts and imported and domestic flavorings available. Our recipes and methods then capture the essence of each natural ingredient.
